Sasquatch Brew Fest Beer Dinner!

Produced by the Northwest Legends Foundation, the Sasquatch Brew Fest Beer Dinner provides an opportunity for old and new friends to gather together and enjoy some of the best craft-brewed beers paired with delicious cuisine.

The dinner also features the announcement each year of the winners of the brewing scholarships, presented by Glen's brother Quentin Falconer of the Glen Hay Falconer Foundation.

Sasquatch Beer Dinner now taking Reservations!

The 2014 Sasquatch Brewers Dinner will be held on Friday June 6, 2014 at Falling Sky Brewing Pourhouse & Delicatessen, located at 790 Blair Blvd.. Cost is $70 per person. Reservations are required please.

Food will be provided by the Falling Sky chefs, and paired with beers from participating breweries. Please note space is extremely limited compared to previous years, so early reservations are required. Join us in celebration of Glen Hay Falconer!

The beer dinner is a benefit for the Northwest Legends Foundation, a local non-profit organization that produces the Sasquatch Brew Fest, dedicated to the memory of Glen Falconer.

Sasquatch Beer Dinner 2014 Menu!

First Course:
Charcuterie Cocktail Hour
- Karnatzlach, gravlox, assorted pastrami and corned beef, duck egg salad, market crudites, spent grain rolls, pickled veggies and fruits, house sauces and accoutrement.
Beers:
Agrarian AlesBelGener Weiss: Soured wheat beer made with 50% unmalted organic heirloom Red Fife wheat from Camas Country Mill. Dry hopped with Centennial hops from our farm. 3.5% ABV 20 IBU
Falling Sky BrewingWhere The Mild Things Are: The original beer of the working masses, this easy drinking pint has notes of toasted nuts, black currants, and a distinct English bite that will make you feel like the King of the Wild Things. 3.3% ABV 15 IBU
McMenamin’s High St BreweryGradma Betty’s Quilted IPA: Hops, hops, hops. A patchwork blanket of Superior Pilsen, Pearl Pale, and C-15 malts is woven together with an insane amount of Mosaic and Simcoe hops then dry hopped with Falconers Flight. 7.5% ABV 100+ IBU

Second Course:
Heirloom Panzanella Salad
- Herbed focaccia and marble rye crouton, heirloom tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil, balsamic reduction.
Beer:
McKenzie BrewingKeller Kolsch: A straw colored German-style ale brewed with Czech Saaz hops and German Pilsner malt. 4.7% ABV 25 IBU

Third Course:
Market Gazpacho Soup
- Chilled tomato and market vegetable soup.
Beer:
Track Town BrewingPrefontaine Strong Belgian Stout: rich and malty with complex esters and Belgian character. Notes of chocolate, roast, and biscuit coincide with fruitiness provided by the Belgian yeast. 9% ABV 45 IBU

Main Course:
Family-style Terra Mare
- Blackened albacore tuna, Smoked portobellas, & Mojo-braised beef with chimichurri and basque piperade served with saffron scented rice pilaf and truffle buttered asparagus

Main Course Beer Pairings:
Blackened albacore tuna: Ninkasi BrewingLux Munich Helles Lager: Lux has a clean aroma with just a touch of grassy hops leading to a sweet, toasty malt flavor. This sustains to a crisp finish with just a hint of noble hop aroma. This beer defines refreshing! 5% ABV 20 IBU
Smoked portobellas: Oakshire BrewingSmokin’ Hell Smoked Helles Lagerbier: Smokin’ Hell is a true German lager, inspired by the smoked beers of Bamberg. Baked bread and toasty flavors follow through the middle and a faint smoked note lingers in the finish. 4.7% ABV 20 IBU
Mojo-braised beef: Hop Valley BrewingPick N Grin IPA: An IPA brewed with over 20 percent rye malt, this beer was specifically formulated to be consumed in the presence of acoustic instruments. 7.3% ABV 50 IBU

Fifth Course:
Strawberry Rhubarb Tartlet
- with lemon-basil chantilly and stout-balsamic reduction.
Beer:
Claim 52 - Whitewater Wit: Used calomandine mandarins, murcott mandarins, kumquats, coriander and Saphir hops. Fermented in our wine tank with Belgian wheat yeast. 6% ABV 15 IBU

Sixth Course:
Decadent Digestif Hour
- Platters of cookies, whoopie pies, brownies, scones and short breads.
Beers:
Falling Sky BrewingSpace Is The Place Schwarzbier: ‘If you find Earth boring, just the same old same thing, C’mon and sign up with Outer Spaceways, Incorporated.’ Hints of malt sweetness in the aroma with a smooth balance of malt, hops, and subtle roast flavors creates a refreshing dark lager. 6% ABV 23 IBU
Sam Bond’s BrewingJava Porter: Dark porter with bold coffee flavor brought about by cold-brewed Stumptown Hairbender beans. A smooth finish provided by rolled oats completes this well-balanced breakfast beer. 6% ABV 31 IBU
Oakshire BrewingGlen’s Hop Vice Triple IPA: Glen’s 2014 is hazy orange in color and has a huge dank, tropical fruit, and citrus aroma that explodes from the glass. Mild sweet malt and deep piney flavors meld in the middle masking the alcohol, and then Glen's ends with a long lingering hop trail. 10.2% ABV 198 IBU!
