The Sasquatch Brew Fest thanks the Eugene Hilton for their generous support of our annual community festival.
The Sasquatch Brew Fest is managed and produced by the Northwest Legends Foundation, a Eugene-based non-profit organization staffed by friends of Glen Hay Falconer.
The beer festival will run from noon to 10:30 p.m. and will showcase the vibrant Pacific Northwest brewing industry by offering an opportunity to taste unique craft beers chosen specifically by each brewery’s head brewer.
Tickets will be available when the festival gates open at 12 p.m. for $10. Entrance will include a commemorative glass and two taste tickets. Additional taste tickets will be available for purchase.
Northwest Legends Foundation and the Sasquatch Brew Fest:
Designed to showcase Pacific Northwest craft brewing, the Sasquatch Brew Fest allows professional brewers to 'show off,' by featuring unique specialty beers each selected by a professional brewer to honor Glen's memory. A large portion of the proceeds will be provided to the Glen Hay Falconer Foundation, a non-profit organization staffed by Glen's family with a mandate to support craft brewing by providing brewing scholarships. Additional funds obtained from the beer bash will be presented by the Northwest Legends Foundation to Eugene-based non-profit organizations - again - in memory of Glen.
Formed at the request of the Glen Hay Falconer Foundation, the Northwest Legends Foundation continues the legacy and memory of Glen Falconer by assuring that the Sasquatch Brew Fest continue as a showcase of not only craft brewing, but the educational and community spirit envisioned by all who knew Glen.
The Northwest Legends Foundation will invoke the spirit of the legendary Sasquatch (Glen’s nickname) and the memory of Glen Falconer, known as one of the most talented and popular brewers in Eugene, by furthering the art of home brewing through the support of the people who brew craft-brewed beer in their home, and by continuing the financial support of the brewing scholarships and the good works of the Glen Hay Falconer Foundation.
As a home-grown organization, the Northwest Legends Foundation will also continue funding area non-profits and organizations in spirit of our friend.
The Glen Hay Falconer Foundation scholarship is for the World Brewing Academy Concise Course in Brewing Technology held at the Siebel Institute in Chicago in October/November 2009. Please visit the Glen Hay Falconer Foundation web site for more information.
In addition to the Sasquatch Brew Fest, join us for the second annual Sasquatch BrewAm at McMenamins Edgefield in Troutdale, Oregon. Stay tuned for more information.
Glen Hay Falconer began his brewing career as an avid home brewer and dedicated member of the Cascade Brewers Society, a clan of skilled home brewers based in the Eugene/Springfield area. As a professional brewer, Glen continued to support the craft of home brewing by providing access to brewing ingredients, procedures and unique beer recipes.
Glen assisted many professional brewers that relocated from Eugene to areas throughout the United States, as they began their professional brewing careers by making himself available as a human database of brewing techniques. The name Glen Falconer is still known throughout the country as a passionate brewer who dedicated his life, knowledge and his friendship to brewers everywhere.
